Hope, your writing always takes me somewhere external and internal. Your voice is its own energetic ecosystem and is so singular in its frequency. I am grateful for the stories you tell. They change me. They loosen and tease out unexpected threads in me - questions that work on me like a grain of wave-churned sand scrape-scrape-scrapes the pearlescent interior of an oyster's shell. Questions whose electric charge lies not in their urgent demand for tidy answers, but rather in their ability to shift the perspective through which one orients to The Now, to this singular and as-yet-unwritten waking moment. Thank you for sharing this Keep Writing project all of these years. It has been a beautiful and quietly radical project and I respect your fidelity to it across many seasons and chapters of your own life.

Hope, this is a particularly beautifully written piece, and very evocative. I can visualize so well all of those cafes, sitting and seeing friends. Thank you. Melissa

These words are the essence of NOLA. I'm very sad you lost your friend but even in mourning you still recognize the beauty of the City. Thank you.

I loved this piece. I've lost friends and family, some soon - some later, but this writing helped my perspective. In the middle I literally stopped and asked Alexa what a second line was and her answer was so upbeat and spot-on, I almost felt tears come up. Thank you for this lovely bit of writing.
